Three Flower Inspired Cocktails

Concocted with flower-based cordials or waters, these libations supply delicate yet heady floral notes that complement other liqueurs or wines. The beverages bring bouquets — of flavors — to a brunch or cocktail hour.


Elderflower Tequila Slipper


  • 2 ounces silver tequila
  • 1 1/4 ounces elderflower liqueur, preferably St-Germain
  • 4 dashes grapefruit bitters
  • Ice
  • 1 slice of grapefruit


  1. Combine tequila, elderflower liqueur, and bitters in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Stir until chilled, and strain into a coupe. Garnish with grapefruit.


Violet Vermouth


  • 1 ounce violet liqueur, such as Creme Yvette
  • 1 ounce dry vermouth
  • Ice
  • Edible violet


  1. Combine violet liqueur and dry vermouth in an ice-filled glass. Garnish with an edible violet.


Sparkling Red Rose


  • 6 ounces sweet sparkling red wine, such as Banfi Rosa Regale
  • 1/8 teaspoon rose water
  • Sliced strawberries


  1. Fill a Champagne glass with red wine. Add rose water. Garnish with sliced strawberries.
